Quick Answer

Wisteria Dusk Purple Contact Lenses are a soft lavender-violet with a fine dotted fade and a feathered edge — purple that reads like tinted daylight, not costume.

What the Shade Looks Like

The center is pale lavender that deepens into a fuller violet at the outer edge, with no banded line; the color melts across the iris. Up close, the pattern is a fine dot-matrix mesh — dots tighter toward the rim, looser in the middle, which keeps the center light rather than solid.

There is no hard limbal ring. The edge feathers into the white of the eye, vivid at the rim and airy at the center, cooler in daylight and slightly pinker indoors.

What to Wear With Purple

1. Cream and lavender tonal. A cream cable-knit, stone-washed denim, pearl studs. Keep metals pale so the violet stays loud.

2. Charcoal and silver. A charcoal slip dress or a black blazer over grey, silver hoops, patent ankle boots — this one reads evening.

3. Olive and gold. An olive utility jacket, warm ivory tee, matte gold jewelry. Olive sits opposite purple, so the two sharpen each other.

Where They Fit

Coffee runs, campus days, and dinner photos — anywhere you want a color note that still looks like a face. They also suit cosplay and themed parties when you want violet eyes without the costume.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one condition: the color is noticeable. In daylight it reads as distinct lavender-violet, so creative offices and weekends suit it, while a strictly neutral wardrobe will find it loud.

FAQ

Are these purple or violet? Both, depending on light. These purple contact lenses sit in a lavender-violet range — light center, deeper rim.

What pairs well with them? Cream, charcoal, olive, grey, warm ivory. Pale metals flatter the violet; heavy gold muddies it.

Can I wear them daily? Many people will, though the tint is visible, so creative settings suit them more than strict dress codes.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
