Wear & Care

Simple habits that help keep colored contact lenses comfortable, clean and ready to wear.

Before you wear

Follow the wear schedule and care instructions provided with your lenses or by your eye care professional. Wash your hands thoroughly and dry them with a lint-free towel before handling lenses.

Inserting lenses

  1. Place the lens on your fingertip and check that the edge is not turned inward.
  2. Look upward, gently hold the lower lid down, and place the lens on the eye.
  3. Release the lid slowly, blink gently, and check that the lens feels centered and comfortable.

Removing lenses

  1. Wash and dry your hands.
  2. Look upward and gently slide the lens toward the lower white part of the eye.
  3. Pinch the lens lightly between your thumb and index finger and remove it.

Cleaning & storage

  • Use the lens care solution recommended for your lens type.
  • Do not use tap water, saliva or homemade solutions.
  • Replace solution in the case after each use and clean the case regularly.
  • Never use a lens after its replacement schedule has passed.

When not to wear lenses

  • Do not wear lenses while sleeping unless your eye care professional specifically approves it.
  • Avoid swimming, showering or using a hot tub with lenses in place.
  • Remove lenses if you have redness, pain, blurred vision, excessive tearing or persistent discomfort.
