Quick answer

Winter Star Silver Contact Lenses are a smoky silver-grey lens with a fine dotted mesh and a slim dark rim — cool and polished, never costume.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a soft silver-grey, not a hard metallic silver. The center sits deeper and shadowier, then opens into a lighter, cooler haze before a thin dark rim closes the edge. That rim is the defining detail: it frames the iris so the grey doesn’t float into the white of the eye.

The pattern is tiny, tightly packed dots, fine enough to read as a light mesh instead of obvious speckling. There’s a faint sheen where light meets the surface and no printed graphic. Next to brighter silver contact lenses that flash white in photos, this pair stays muted over your natural iris.

What to Wear With Silver

Keep the face clean and let the grey do the work.

  1. Grey on grey. Heather wool blazer, charcoal knit, white shirt, thin silver hoops.
  2. Denim and white. Light-wash jeans, a crisp white tee, a black leather jacket — silver reads sharp against blue.
  3. Warm neutrals. Oatmeal, sand and cream with brushed gold or pewter jewelry, so the grey never turns cold.

Where They Fit

Easy for work, travel, a low-key dinner, or a photo where the eyes hold the frame. For a party or cosplay look, keep the outfit monochrome.

Everyday Wear: Yes

A genuine everyday pair. The mesh softens the edge, so nothing looks painted on, and the grey stays believable in daylight. It suits bare skin and no-makeup makeup; skip it when you want a warm eye.

FAQ

What color are these lenses? Smoky silver-grey, with a deeper center, a lighter mid-field, and a slim dark rim.

How should I style these silver contact lenses? Start with cool tones — grey, black, white, denim — and warm neutrals if you add gold.

Can I wear them every day? Yes. The dotted mesh keeps them soft enough for work, errands, and daylight photos.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
