Quick Answer

Window Light Azure Blue Contact Lenses are a bright, clean azure blue that reads as natural iris color in daylight, not costume.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a vivid azure blue, closer to clear sky than to navy. A fine dot mesh builds the color across the surface instead of one flat block of pigment, and the center stays clear so your own pupil shows through. There is no dark rim: the blue thins and melts into the natural iris, which is why it photographs as an eye color rather than a ring.

What to Wear With Blue

1. White and denim. White tee, light-wash straight jeans, cotton overshirt, small silver studs. White lifts the blue; denim grounds it.

2. Warm neutrals. Oatmeal linen, camel blazer, cream knit, thin gold hoops. Warm tones keep the blue from turning cold.

3. Quiet evening. Slate silk or an ink-navy blazer with charcoal trousers and a bare lid.

Where They Fit

Desk days, coffee runs and daylight photos suit this pair best, since light is where blue contact lenses look most like an eye color. They also work at a party or in cosplay when the face stays simple.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, this is an everyday pair. The color is even, the center is clear and nothing draws a hard edge, so it slots into a no-makeup-makeup routine for work, errands and photos. It works less well under heavy liner or smoky shadow, which fights the mesh.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
