Vivid Ocean Blue Contact Lens

This image showcases a striking ocean blue contact lens being worn in an eye. The vibrant sapphire blue color creates a dramatic transformation that's both eye-catching and elegant.

Key Features:

  • Rich Azure Blue Color: A brilliant, saturated blue shade reminiscent of deep ocean waters
  • Detailed Mesh Pattern: Fine honeycomb-like texture throughout the lens that adds realism and dimension
  • Natural Gradient Effect: Slightly deeper blue around the outer edge that fades to a more transparent blue near the pupil
  • Excellent Light Reflection: Clear light points indicate proper lens fit and high-quality material
  • Well-Defined Pupil Area: Clean central opening for unobstructed vision
  • Seamless Edge Integration: The lens blends naturally with the eye's sclera for a polished look

The blue contact lens is framed by dark, voluminous eyelashes that enhance the overall effect. This particular shade of intense blue would be perfect for creating dramatic looks for photoshoots, special events, cosplay, or as a bold fashion statement for everyday wear.

This vivid blue color can completely transform eye appearance, making it particularly popular for those wanting a noticeable change from their natural eye color. The intensity and clarity of the blue tone would complement various skin tones and makeup styles, especially those that incorporate complementary colors to make the blue pop even more.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
