Violet Indigo — violet colored contacts, indigo contacts, purple contacts

A dramatic, jewel-toned fusion that sits between twilight violet and deep indigo, Violet‑Indigo delivers a multi-dimensional purple gaze with layered depth and subtle luminosity. The design begins with a softly bright amethyst center that gently blooms into richer indigo and plum striations, creating a radiant sunburst effect that mimics the natural radial texture of the iris. Fine, brush-like flecks of cool shimmer catch the light and add a pearlescent sheen, while a softly diffused outer ring frames the eye for an intensified, fashion-forward silhouette. The overall impression is mysterious and sophisticated: a color that reads elegant in daylight and intensely theatrical under evening lights.

Violet‑Indigo is made to elevate looks that lean toward the expressive and imaginative. For editorial and runway settings it reads as a contemporary statement — the layered purple tones photograph with gorgeous tonal variation and give close-ups a painterly depth. In nightlife and club scenes the indigo undertones add an alluring, almost hypnotic quality to the gaze; pair with dramatic contouring, bold lashes, and metallic accents for an unforgettable, high-impact finish. These lenses are a natural choice for cosplay and fantasy characters who require a regal, enchanted, or otherworldly presence — think sorcerers, fae nobles, and cosmic travelers whose eyes are a central storytelling element. For everyday fashion-forward wear, Violet‑Indigo offers a way to introduce color without feeling costume-y: combine with soft plum lips and neutral skin to let the eyes remain the focal point, or go full editorial with graphic liner and monochrome outfits for a modern avant-garde look.

Styling suggestions include pairing Violet‑Indigo with cool-toned makeup palettes — silvery highlights, mauve blush, and deep berry lips — to emphasize the lens’s purple depths. For contrast, warm metallic accessories (bronze, rose gold) and honey-blonde hair tones create an arresting juxtaposition that makes the indigo notes pop. In softer styling scenarios, washed neutrals and sheer fabrics allow the violet shimmer to read subtly and elegantly, suitable for creative daytime events or artistic photoshoots.

Wherever they’re worn, Violet‑Indigo colored contacts transform the eye into a focal point that feels both fashion-conscious and slightly mysterious — a versatile purple that moves between romantic twilight and bold editorial drama with ease.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
