Quick Answer

Venice Eclipse Amber Brown Contact Lenses are a sunlit amber-brown pair: honey at the pupil, copper at the rim. They read as warm brown contact lenses with genuine glow rather than a flat tint.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is golden amber brown. A translucent honey clearing opens around the pupil and brightens fast, easing through a warm honey band into a deeper copper-caramel mid-iris — no hard transition line anywhere.

A fine, evenly spaced dot-matrix print forms a subtle mesh that softens into a speckled glow once worn. The outer rim is a thin, darker amber-brown ring, softly feathered inside, sitting well outside the bright center. Photos catch a soft sheen and bright catchlights.

What to Wear With Brown Contact Lenses

1. Warm Neutrals for Day — cream ribbed knit, camel coat, oatmeal denim, brushed gold hoops. Amber wakes up against beige.

2. Olive and Bronze for Night — olive satin slip, bronze cuff, chocolate boots, a sheer terracotta lip. Warm light pushes the copper rim forward.

3. Navy and Rosewood for Work — navy blazer, rosewood lip, silver studs, oxblood loafers. Cool tailoring makes the gold center pop.

Where They Fit

Brunch, office days, golden-hour travel photos, dinners, parties, and cosplay styling. Soft enough for a weekday, vivid enough for a shoot where the eyes carry the frame.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Even coverage and a gentle transition keep this pair wearable daily. It shows most in daylight and photos; indoors the amber quiets into a warm brown. If you want a barely-there tint, this is more color than that.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
