Quick Answer
Twilight Blossom Black Contact Lenses are the soft-glam way to wear black: a deep, blended black that adds evening polish without tipping into costume.
What the Shade Looks Like
Up close, the base is a soft true black rather than flat ink. The center stays lighter and slightly translucent, so your own depth still shows, and the black deepens as it moves outward. There is no hard outer ring; the edge dissolves.
The pattern is diffused rather than dotted or mesh-like — a soft-focus veil over the eye. In candlelight it reads almost smoky; in daylight it firms into a cleaner black.
What to Wear With Black
Black lenses are a styling tool, not a color match.
-
Champagne satin and brushed gold. A bias-cut satin slip dress in champagne, a thin gold chain, warm neutral shadow.
-
Ivory knit and pearl. A fine ivory cashmere knit, a bone column skirt, small pearl studs and a grey wool coat.
-
Charcoal tailoring and gunmetal. A charcoal wool blazer over a bone silk camisole, slim black trousers, gunmetal hoops.
Where They Fit
A candlelit reception, an engagement dinner, prom photos, a studio portrait session, a wedding where you are a guest rather than the bride. They also work for cosplay or a costume night, though soft glam is where they look most at home.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Everyday wear: yes, with one condition. With mascara, neutral shadow and brushed brows, these slip into daily life easily. On a bare face in flat morning light the black reads stronger than you expect.
FAQ
What color are these lenses? A blended black — dense at the outer edge, softly translucent toward the center, with no hard rim.
What should I wear with them? Warm neutrals: champagne satin, ivory knits, cream and bone, with gold, pearl or gunmetal jewelry.
Can I wear them every day? Yes, if you wear at least light eye makeup. On a makeup-free day they look more dramatic than intended.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
