Quick answer

Tidepool Moss Sea Green Contact Lenses are a muted sea-green pair with olive-teal depth and a dark outer ring. If you want green contact lenses that look lived-in rather than theatrical, this is the mood.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a hazy sea green, deeper at the edge and softer toward the middle, like shallow water over dark stone. A dark center eases through a greenish-brown transition, so the meeting point with your own pupil never reads as a hard cut. A fine dotted halftone covers the iris, with a faint radial print running outward like soft spokes. The outer ring is dark and defined, its inner edge slightly blurred, and a small white highlight curves near the top.

What to Wear With Green

1. Soft neutral daytime. Ivory linen shirt, oatmeal cardigan, ecru denim, brushed silver hoops. Skip bright white, which flattens sea green.

2. Cool evening. Black silk slip dress, charcoal wool blazer, polished silver, gunmetal hardware, deep teal nails.

3. Warm earthy contrast. Rust corduroy, camel suede, a cream ribbed tee, gold-toned jewelry, chocolate leather belt.

Where They Fit

Easy for the office, a long travel day, or a bookstore afternoon, since the color sits close to natural indoors. In low restaurant light the dark rim gives the eye a clean outline that photographs well. Party and cosplay styling is a bonus, not a requirement.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one honest caveat. The muted base reads subtle at conversation distance, so it suits work, errands, and travel. Up close, the dotted halftone and dark rim are visible, so if you want a lens that disappears, look elsewhere. This one is styling, not invisibility.

FAQ

What color is it, really? A muted sea green — grey-green rather than emerald — with olive and teal undertones and a dark ring that deepens the look.

What pairs with green contact lenses? Neutrals first: ivory, oatmeal, charcoal, camel. Add one warm accent, like rust or chocolate leather. Silver cools the shade; gold warms it.

Can I wear them every day? Yes, if you like a visible lens. The pattern and rim show in close photos, so save them for days when your eyes are part of the outfit.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
