Quick answer
Sunbaked Clay Brown Contact Lenses are a clean mid-brown with a clear center and a soft edge — an easy everyday choice in brown contact lenses when you want warmth without a loud color shift.
What the Shade Looks Like
Up close the lens is a warm, slightly milky mid-brown, like a latte just stirred. The center stays clear and open, then the brown spreads outward in one even wash. There is no visible dot matrix, no mesh and no hard outer ring: the color simply fades at the boundary, so coverage reads full while the edge stays quiet.
What to Wear With Brown
-
Oatmeal and camel. Cream ribbed knit, camel wool coat, beige trousers, brushed gold hoops.
-
Denim and white. Mid-blue straight-leg jeans, a crisp white poplin shirt, silver studs, a canvas tote.
-
Evening neutrals. A black slip dress or espresso satin, gunmetal jewelry, a deep olive clutch.
Where They Fit
Weekday office, morning classes, commutes and travel days all work — the brown sits close enough to natural that it never reads as a statement. Daylight flatters it. For a party or a cosplay look it can sit under stronger makeup as a base layer, never as the costume.
Everyday Wear: Yes
This is an everyday lens. The center is clear, the edge is soft and the brown stays believable in daylight, so it works with no-makeup makeup or a bare face. If you want a bold rim or an obvious color change, look elsewhere.
FAQ
What color are these brown contact lenses? A warm mid-brown, milky coffee rather than chocolate, with no grey or amber cast.
What should I wear with them? Warm neutrals first — cream, oatmeal, camel — then denim with white, then black or espresso for evening.
Can I wear them every day? Yes. A clear center and a soft edge keep the look natural for work, errands, travel and photos.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
