Quick Answer

Sugar Frost Violet Purple Contact Lenses give the eye a cool violet cast with a soft, faintly frosted edge — a purple that reads glossy in photos without tipping into costume. These are purple contact lenses you can wear on a Tuesday, not just to a themed party.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up the base is a true mid-purple with a whisper of berry underneath. The center melts into a deeper violet at the outer edge, with no hard ring or black rim, so the transition looks soft and almost watercolor. I don’t see a printed dot pattern or mesh; the surface is smooth and even. Coverage stays even across the iris with no mirrored highlight, so it holds up in daylight too.

What to Wear With Purple

1. Low-Rise Denim, Frosted Eyeshadow. A white baby tee, low-rise jeans, and small silver hoops keep it 2000s without going full costume; frosted lilac shadow finishes the face.

2. Lilac Satin Slip Dress. Satin pulls the violet forward. Add pearl studs, a sheer pink lip, and a thin brow for a cleaner, dressier take on the same look.

3. Black Mini, Glossy Lips. A black mini skirt and a fitted black top let the purple talk; skip heavy liner and go for a high-shine lip.

Where They Fit

Coffee runs, class, and birthday dinners all work, and the violet shows clearly in flash photos. For cosplay or a themed shoot, it reads without looking like a mask.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, this is a real daytime purple. It works with neutral makeup and everyday denim; it only feels like a lot if you want your eyes to disappear.

FAQ

What color are these purple contact lenses? A soft mid-violet purple with a blurred edge and no dark rim.

What makeup pairs with them? Frosted lilac shadow, silver hoops, and a glossy lip are the fastest route to the Y2K look.

Are they too much for a normal day? Not really. Keep your base and brows simple so the purple reads as a soft wash.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
