Quick Answer
Sugar Frost Cocoa Brown Contact Lenses are the Y2K-era brown lens: a deep cocoa wash that makes eyes look soft-focus and camera-ready. They add depth and a blurred, filter-like finish instead of a hard ring.
What the Shade Looks Like
Up close, the base is a rich cocoa brown, not a flat block of color. A fine dot mesh runs from the outer edge inward, so the shade reads like a tint laid over the iris. The center opens clear around the pupil, then eases into a mid-field a touch lighter than the outer edge — that soft center-to-edge transition is what gives the airbrushed look in flash photos. There is no defined dark rim, so the edge melts into your natural iris, and the finish reads satin rather than wet.
What to Wear With Brown
Brown is a neutral, so the styling does the talking. Three directions:
-
Low-rise denim and a baby tee. Mid-blue flares, a cropped white tee, a thin silver chain, chunky sneakers. Cool blue denim pushes the cocoa warmer.
-
Frosty makeup, glossy finish. Frosted champagne shadow, thin brows, clear or pink-tinted gloss, a touch of highlighter at the inner corner. Keep blush sheer.
-
Velour and butterflies. A chocolate velour zip hoodie or terry mini skirt, tiny butterfly clips at the temples, big silver hoops. Flash loves that texture.
Where They Fit
Nights out, mostly: group photos, birthday dinners, 2000s-themed parties where every camera has a flash. At the office or on a travel day, the cocoa tone sits quietly with lighter makeup. They also suit dark-eyed cosplay, since the soft edge keeps things from reading cartoonish.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes — with one styling condition. Keep the rest of your face simple. In daylight the finish looks softer; under flash it looks more dramatic. Pair them with sheer base, one frosty shadow, and a gloss.

What color are these brown contact lenses? A deep cocoa brown with a fine dot mesh, a clear center, and no heavy dark rim — the edge blurs into the iris.
What do I wear with brown contact lenses? Low-rise blue denim and a white tee, or chocolate velour with silver hoops. Cool blues and silver flatter cocoa.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
