Quick answer
Storm Graphite Grey Contact Lenses are a deep, full-coverage grey with a soft feathered edge that adds quiet depth to the iris. If you want grey contact lenses that read like natural shadow, start here.
What the Shade Looks Like
Up close the field is a saturated charcoal grey — closer to wet slate than pale silver. The tone sits evenly across the iris, with no pale center and a smooth center-to-edge blend. The outer edge deepens slightly instead of drawing a hard ring. That darker edge is the defining detail: it grounds the grey without ever turning the lens black.
What to Wear With Grey
Grey is easy once you choose a temperature — I keep everything cool.
-
Soft neutrals. Cream ribbed knit, ecru denim, oatmeal cardigan, brushed gold hoops.
-
Cool tailoring. Slate blazer, white silk tee, charcoal trousers, sterling silver jewelry.
-
Evening dark. Inky slip dress or black turtleneck, leather boots, bare skin — the grey stays the softest note.
Where They Fit
Desk days, layovers, birthday dinners, and low-key photos where you want depth without a full face of makeup. A cool smoky eye makes them party-ready.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes, with one caveat: skip heavy liner and let your brows do the work. In daylight the grey reads soft and nearly bare — exactly the no-makeup look I want on a weekday. Under warm restaurant light it pulls deeper, so keep the rest of your makeup light.
FAQ
What color are these lenses? A full charcoal grey with a deeper outer edge — smoky in daylight, slate at night.
What should I wear with grey contact lenses? Cool neutrals and silver: cream knits, white silk, slate blazers, denim.
Can I wear them every day? Yes — light liner keeps the grey calm; heavy black liner makes it theatrical.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
