Quick Answer
Spring Daffodil Gold Contact Lenses are a vivid golden yellow with a honey-bright center and a soft amber edge. If you want gold contact lenses that read sunny rather than neon, this is the shade to style with neutrals.
What the Shade Looks Like
The base is a true yellow-gold, not a brown amber. Fine dotted pigment forms a soft mesh that fans out from the pupil — denser at the center, looser toward the edge. Around the pupil the tone lifts into a pale, almost translucent halo before deepening into a warm honey-gold band near the outer edge. The rim is soft, fading into that band instead of drawing a hard circle. Indoors the gold turns slightly olive-warm; in daylight it brightens, which is where the vivid pigmentation shows.
What to Wear With Gold
-
Soft Neutral: cream ribbed knit, oyster-white denim, camel coat, brushed gold hoops, peach blush and a nude lip.
-
Sharp Contrast: a chocolate-brown blazer over a butter-yellow slip dress, tan ankle boots, tortoiseshell sunglasses.
-
Evening Warmth: rust or terracotta silk, bronze jewelry, a slim black bag — keep metals warm, not silver.
Where They Fit
Daylight is their best setting: brunch patios, travel photos, golden-hour shoots. At work they stay polished with a white shirt and gray trousers. For parties, warm bronze shadow lets the gold lead. For cosplay or costume shoots, the yellow-gold base suits sun-warm fantasy styling with rust, cream, or brown pieces.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes, with one condition: let the gold be the focal point. These gold contact lenses are easy on a Tuesday with bare lids, simple layers, and warm metals. Pair them with a heavy smoky eye every day and they tip toward costume, so save that for evenings.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
