Quick Answer

Solstice Milan Purple Contact Lenses are the vivid violet pair to reach for when you want your eyes to lead the look. These purple contact lenses read saturated and cool, not pastel.

What the Shade Looks Like

Up close the base is a true, high-saturation purple, closer to a lit violet bulb than a muted plum. The middle opens into a paler lavender pool around the pupil, and that fade keeps the center soft. A fine dotted mesh runs edge to edge, denser and darker at the outer rim, giving the iris a grainy, fabric-like depth. The rim is a defined deeper violet that holds the eye’s shape without a hard black line, and a light sheen catches flash and window light.

What to Wear With Purple

1. Silver and slate. A charcoal blazer, silver satin camisole, and grey trousers keep the violet electric instead of muddy.

2. Cream and lilac. Oatmeal knit, cream denim, and tan loafers soften the shade; add one lilac bag so it looks intentional.

3. Black and burgundy. A black slip dress, burgundy velvet blazer, and patent boots turn the lens into evening wear.

Where They Fit

Dinners, concerts, holiday parties, and camera-flash photos suit this shade best, and it doubles as a finishing touch for cosplay or fantasy styling. For the office, keep everything else bare.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with restraint. With neutral makeup and simple clothes, the violet looks like a fashion choice on a normal Tuesday. Skip it for strict dress codes and formal events.

FAQ

What color is this lens? A vivid, cool violet with a lighter lavender center and a defined deeper purple rim, saturated rather than pastel.

What do I pair with it? Cool neutrals like charcoal, silver, and cream first, then one deep accent such as burgundy or black satin.

Is it everyday-friendly? Yes, when your makeup stays quiet. It is a statement pair, so casual days suit it better than a dress code.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
