Quick Answer
Solstice Ember Brown Contact Lenses blend a deep, softly diffused brown with a clear center and a smoky edge — brown contact lenses that read like your own eyes on a very good day.
What the Shade Looks Like
Up close, the base is a deep, cool-leaning brown: inky in low light, warming into cocoa in daylight. Color is lighter at the center, right over the pupil, then builds outward in one smooth gradient. There is no dot matrix, no mesh and no printed pattern breaking the blend, and the outer edge deepens softly instead of stopping at a drawn ring, so the shade frames your iris rather than covering it. The surface is matte — no gloss, no sparkle; any sheen you see is daylight.
What to Wear With Brown
-
Cream and Camel: an oatmeal cashmere crewneck, ecru straight-leg denim, tan leather loafers and one thin gold band.
-
Charcoal and Silver: a heather-grey blazer over a white tee, black tailored trousers and brushed silver hoops — grey cools the brown and deepens it.
-
Chocolate and Gold: a chocolate satin slip dress, a cropped black leather jacket and layered gold chains.
Where They Fit
Work, brunch, travel days and low-key dinners — this is a lens that never announces itself. Window light, hotel courtyards and overcast streets all flatter it. For a party or a cosplay look, a smoky eye gives the deep edge presence.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes. This brown styles with almost anything and looks best with minimal makeup: groomed brows, a taupe wash, mascara, tinted balm. If you want a graphic, high-contrast pop of color, look elsewhere — the finish here is soft by design.
FAQ
What color are these brown contact lenses? A deep, cool-toned brown, lighter at the center with a smoky edge — nearly black-brown in shadow, cocoa in daylight.
What should I wear with them? Cream, camel and oatmeal by day; charcoal, black and silver at night. Gold warms the shade, silver cools it.
Can I wear them every day? Yes, for a natural look. Coverage is full but the blend is smooth, so nothing looks stamped on.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
