Quick Answer

Softlight Fern Green Contact Lenses are a full-coverage green with a deep, mossy center and a light, misty edge. These green contact lenses look like you, with bare lids and no effort.

What the Shade Looks Like

The close-up shows dark, saturated green at the center, blending outward into a pale, hazy green. There’s no black rim and no dot mesh — the color softens instead of stamping. The finish is matte-soft, with no strong gloss.

What to Wear With Green

Green picks up whatever sits next to it, so the outfit sets the mood.

1. Ivory, cream, and oat. Ribbed ivory knit, ecru denim, canvas tote, white sneakers, one thin gold hoop.

2. Charcoal, slate, and black. A slate slip dress or a charcoal blazer over a black tee, with brushed silver instead of gold.

3. Camel, rust, and warm leather. Camel wool coat, rust knit, tan leather boots, warm gold chain.

Where They Fit

Desk days, coffee runs, long flights, and slow market Sundays. They photograph best in open shade, where the pale edge shows. A little smoke along the lash line plays up the darker center at night.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one caveat: full-coverage green is visible. Bare lids and neutral clothes keep it natural; heavy liner turns it into a statement, and bright overhead light makes the green read stronger than you expect.

FAQ

  • We recommend a rub and rinse before soaking soft lenses for a minimum of 6 hours in their container.
  • Don't wear contact lenses overnight.
  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.
  • Don't use saline solution for contact lens cleaning or disinfection.
  • Replace your contact lens case every two to three months.
  • Take out your contacts if they are bothering you.
  • Never use saliva as a wetting agent.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
