Quick Answer

Soft Focus Mocha Brown Contact Lenses are a sheer warm brown with a light center and a soft edge — the easiest way to wear brown contact lenses without drifting into costume color.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up, the lens is a translucent warm brown that starts almost clear in the middle and deepens gently outward. There’s no dot mesh, no drawn-on graphic, and no hard dark rim — just a smooth wash that fades where it meets your own iris. The surface is satin-matte with a faint sheen, so the brown reads as depth under the eye rather than a layer sitting on top.

What to Wear With Brown

  1. Frosty Y2K. Low-rise medium-wash denim, a white baby tee, a cropped zip hoodie, silver hoops, frosty white eyeshadow, and clear gloss.
  2. Chocolate neutrals. A cream ribbed knit, an espresso satin slip skirt, a thin brown belt, gold hoops, and a nude lip.
  3. Cool contrast. Grey tailoring, a baby blue cardigan, a pleated mini, silver hardware, and a slicked-back bun.

Where They Fit

Class, brunch, office days, first dates, and travel days. In party flash photos the light center catches light and the brown warms up fast, and for cosplay or a themed night they read in character without tipping into costume.

Everyday Wear: Yes

This is a true everyday pair. It stays quiet in daylight, works against a bare face, and only announces itself up close. If you want a dramatic color shift, this isn’t it.

FAQ

What shade are these brown contact lenses? A translucent warm mocha brown with an almost clear center and a soft edge — no dark rim, no glitter, no dot pattern.

What should I wear with them? Low-rise denim and silver jewelry for Y2K, or cream knits, espresso satin, and gold hoops for something warmer.

Can I wear them every day? Yes — the color is quiet enough for work and school and stays believable in daylight.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
