Quick answer
Smoky Cloud Grey Contact Lenses are a muted, smoky grey — soft, not icy. These grey contact lenses look natural on an ordinary Tuesday with nothing but tinted balm.
What the Shade Looks Like
Up close, Smoky Cloud Grey is milky through the center and deepens into a smoky graphite edge. The blend is a fine dotted mesh, so the transition looks feathered rather than drawn on. A soft darker boundary sits at the outer edge, but it fades instead of cutting a hard line. The finish is low and even, with no heavy gloss.
What to Wear With Grey
Grey lenses sit best with clothes in the same soft temperature.
-
Oatmeal and denim. A ribbed oatmeal knit, straight-leg jeans, white sneakers, one brushed-gold hoop. Makeup: cream blush, clear brow gel, brown mascara.
-
Charcoal and silver. A fine-knit charcoal sweater or a dove-grey silk slip, silver studs, a sheer berry lip. Cool metal keeps grey from going flat.
-
Cool pastels and white. Pale blue shirting, a soft grey cardigan, white denim, a slim silver chain. Skip warm rust and orange.
Where They Fit
Workdays, coffee runs, travel days, low-key dinners, and any photo in window light. They also suit a soft party or minimal cosplay look — a quiet sci-fi character — if the styling stays clean.
Everyday Wear: Yes
These are everyday lenses. The haze is muted enough for bare skin and no-makeup makeup, and it stays subtle indoors and out. Where they fall short is drama: for a sharp night out, a deeper charcoal pair does more.
FAQ
What color are they, exactly? A smoky, cloudy grey — milky at the center, darker toward a feathered edge.
What pairs well with grey contact lenses? Oatmeal, denim, charcoal, silver, cool pastels. Keep warm rust away if you want the grey visible.
Can I wear them every day? Yes, with minimal makeup in daylight. Sun lifts the grey; indoors it reads deeper.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
