Quick answer

Silk Vienna River Blue Contact Lenses are a soft glam blue for weddings, dinners and photo-ready evenings — a low-saturation haze rather than a loud costume blue.

What the Shade Looks Like

Up close, the blue starts deep: navy pools around the pupil, then opens into a smoky, misty blue through the middle. The center-to-edge blend is gradual, so nothing looks banded. A fine dot mesh carries the color across the lens, reading as one even wash at arm’s length. There is no hard rim; the blue simply softens and lets your lash line close the shape, and the print has no heavy gloss.

What to Wear With Blue

1. Soft glam evening. Champagne satin slip dress, brushed gold hoops, smoky taupe shadow and fluttery lashes.

2. Bridal and wedding guest. Ivory silk, pearl studs, a sheer grey shadow and a nude lip so the blue stays the coolest note in the frame.

3. Everyday polish. Grey wool blazer, white tee, straight-leg navy denim, silver hoops, soft brown shadow.

Where They Fit

Dinners, weddings, prom photos and studio shoots all suit this hazy blue, and it works for travel days and video calls when you want a cooler, polished eye. Cosplay pairs well if you build a blue-toned makeup look around it.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one condition: keep the makeup soft. A sheer base, brown shadow and a nude lip let the hazy blue pass as a cool natural eye. Save them for evening if you want a completely bare look.

FAQ

What color are they? A low-saturation smoky blue — navy at the pupil, misty blue through the middle, soft rimless edge.

What should I wear with blue contact lenses? Champagne satin, ivory silk and cool grey tailoring; keep metals to gold or silver.

Can I wear them daily? Yes on soft glam makeup days, no when I want a totally bare eye.

  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
