Quick answer

Silk Autumn Brown Contact Lenses are quiet brown contact lenses: a warm medium-brown base, a fine dot mesh, and a soft feathered edge with no hard rim. They read like your own eye color in good light.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a warm medium brown, deepest at the pupil and easing into lighter cocoa through the middle of the iris. A fine, even dot mesh runs across that zone, so the color never looks flat or printed on. The dots stay tight in the middle and open slightly toward the softer edge. The outer edge feathers away on its own, with no black or grey ring.

What to Wear With Brown

1. Oatmeal and denim. Oatmeal crewneck, ecru tee, straight-leg jeans, tan belt, gold hoops. Warm neutrals let the brown stay soft.

2. Espresso and black. Chocolate silk shirt, tailored black trousers, small silver studs. Dark clothing makes the brown read deeper.

3. Bare-face beauty. Skin tint, peach cream blush, one coat of brown mascara, clear balm. Nothing competes with the iris.

Where They Fit

Desk days, coffee runs, travel, dinner reservations. In photos the dot mesh keeps its dimension in window light. For a party or cosplay build, add liner and a stronger lip.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, plainly. This shade is built for daily rotation with minimal makeup. Skip it if you want a bold shift or a ringed halo.

FAQ

What color are these brown contact lenses? A warm medium brown with a fine dot mesh and a soft feathered edge, no dark ring.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
