Quick answer

Seville Ember Brown Contact Lenses are a warm chestnut brown pair with a fine dotted print and a dark defining rim — a soft deepening rather than a loud color shift.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a medium-dark chestnut brown that starts at the mid-iris and builds outward. A fine stippled dot-matrix scatters across the colored band, so the surface never reads flat. The pupil zone stays clear, and a dark brown-to-black rim traces the outer edge — soft where it meets the brown, crisp at the boundary. A small white highlight sits on the surface.

What to Wear With Brown

1. Warm neutrals for daytime. Cream ribbed knit, camel trench, tan leather loafers, brushed gold hoops, canvas tote.

2. Cool contrast for evening. Black denim, cropped leather jacket, silver jewelry, oxblood lip or smoked plum liner.

3. Soft romance for weekends. Ivory silk blouse, olive wide-leg trousers, pearl studs, taupe shoulder bag — muted so the eyes lead.

Where They Fit

Office days with a blazer, long travel days, autumn dinners, and cosplay or costume shoots that need extra depth without a bright color, plus warm-toned portraits.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one note: the pigment is medium-to-full in the colored band, so the change shows in daylight. On bare-faced mornings the dotted texture keeps it natural; with makeup it settles in without competing.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
