Quick answer

Serene Mist Blue Contact Lenses are a soft, hazy blue that sits gently on the iris instead of shouting. If you want blue contact lenses that look like an everyday eye color in daylight, start here.

What the Shade Looks Like

The close-up shows a cool blue with grey in it — the sky ten minutes before rain. The center stays clear, then color builds through a soft mid-zone into a deeper blue-grey at the outer iris. A fine speckled mesh runs through that mid-to-edge area, so the blend never reads as a solid disc. There’s no hard rim and no black outline — the edge just fades.

What to Wear With Blue

  1. Weekday minimal. White ribbed tee, light-wash denim, small silver studs. Blue becomes the only cool note in the frame.
  2. Soft tailoring. Dove grey trousers, cream silk shirt, brushed gold hoops. Grey beside misty blue reads quietly expensive.
  3. Evening, no theater. Navy satin slip dress and a fine silver chain. Navy deepens the blue instead of competing.

Where They Fit

A Tuesday meeting, a long brunch, a weekend trip, a portrait session in window light. Daylight keeps the effect soft; dim restaurant light pushes it deeper, so dinner works too.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Unambiguous yes. The tone-on-tone blend stays quiet in daylight and the clear center keeps the eye looking like an eye. Nothing here needs an occasion.

FAQ

What color is this shade, really? A misty blue with a grey undertone — cool and soft, clearest in daylight, more slate indoors.

What do I wear with blue contact lenses like these? White, cream, grey, and light denim flatter the blue; navy and charcoal push it deeper.

Are they everyday suitable? Yes — the pattern is a fine mesh rather than a graphic print, so it blends instead of announcing itself.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
