Quick Answer

Sea Mist Blue Contact Lenses are a soft, misty blue that reads like watercolor on the iris, which is what makes blue contact lenses feel everyday instead of costume.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a muted, hazy blue — watercolor, not sapphire. Blue holds through the center of the lens and diffuses toward the outer iris, so the color fades into the natural tone underneath rather than stopping at a line. There is no hard ring and no dark rim; the outer edge stays soft and open. A fine dot mesh runs across the whole field, and that mesh is what gives the shade its airbrushed texture instead of a flat block of pigment. The pupil stays clear, so the eye still reads as an eye, and the coverage stays even from center to edge.

What to Wear With Blue

  1. Cream and light denim. A white ribbed tank under a light-wash denim jacket, straight-leg jeans, a tan leather bag, and either gold hoops or a thin silver chain.
  2. Cool neutrals. An oatmeal knit, ivory cotton shirt, grey wool blazer, charcoal trousers, and brushed silver or gunmetal jewelry.
  3. Soft evening. A slate slip dress or a black knit midi with a navy cardigan; skip copper and rust, which fight the misty blue.

Where They Fit

Office days, coffee runs, airport layovers, Sunday markets, and window-light photos — wherever the light is soft, the blue looks like a naturally cool eye. At a party or a themed shoot it adds a hazy accent without a graphic rim, subtle enough to sit under character makeup rather than lead it.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, this is a daily blue. It works with tinted balm, one coat of mascara, and a barely-there base. In hard sun or under a ring light the blue reads brighter, and that is the only time it starts to feel like a statement.

FAQ

What color are these blue contact lenses? A misty, medium-light blue with a grey undertone and a soft diffused edge — watercolor, not electric.

What should I pair them with? Light denim and white cotton first, then cool neutrals like grey, ivory, and charcoal.

Can I wear them daily? Yes in soft light; expect the shade to look bolder in direct sunshine.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
