Quick Answer

Scarlet Halo Silver Contact Lenses are vivid scarlet red lenses with a silvery-white gleam at the center — a styling statement, not a subtle tint.

What the Shade Looks Like

Up close the base is saturated cinnabar red: warm, deep, unmistakably red. It opens into a brighter core with a soft silver-white highlight, so the center reads bright, almost lit from behind.

A fine dot-mesh runs across the surface — small, even dots that give the red depth instead of a flat wash. The rim is diffused and faintly smoky rather than a hard ring. Daylight turns the silver cast cool and metallic; warm light pulls it richer and more crimson.

What to Wear With Silver Red Lenses

Let the lens be the statement and keep the rest sharp.

1. Black on black. Matte black turtleneck, leather jacket, coated denim, brushed silver jewelry. Cool metal echoes the highlight.

2. Grey and icy blue. Slate grey suiting, pale blue shirt, silver hoops, white sneakers. Cool tones push the red forward — great in photos.

3. Cream with a red pop. Ivory knit, cream wide-leg trousers, cherry-red lip, gold-tone rings. Soft neutrals let the lens lead.

Where They Fit

Built for a moment: concert lighting, cosplay builds, photoshoots, birthday dinners, any night the flash fires. Also a deliberate editorial pick for portraits.

Everyday Wear: Yes, With a Caveat

Yes — when the outfit is dark and simple and you want to be noticed. Against light backgrounds this shade reads intense, especially beside bare skin and pale denim. On pastel days and quiet meetings, a gentler tint serves you better. It either leads the look or fights it.

FAQ

What color are these lenses? A vivid scarlet red with a silver-white center highlight — closer to candy red than orange or burgundy.

What should I wear with silver contact lenses? Black, charcoal, cool grey, icy blue, and clean ivory. Silver jewelry echoes the highlight; gold warms the look.

Can I wear them daily? Yes, with a dark, minimal outfit. On pastel or no-makeup days the contrast feels harsh.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
