Quick answer

Satin Venice Sunset Red Contact Lenses give you a vivid cherry-crimson red with a fine dotted print and a deeper outer ring — an intentional color statement, not a hint of tint.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a clear, saturated red with no brown or pink lean. Pigment builds toward the middle of the iris, so the shift from pupil to color feels gradual, not hard-edged. The print is a tight halftone dot pattern — the dots are visible up close, which keeps the red even instead of flat. A soft highlight sits across the surface, and the outer edge closes in a more concentrated crimson ring.

What to Wear With Red

1. Sunset neutrals. Camel wool coat, cream ribbed turtleneck, tan leather boots, brushed gold hoops.

2. Night-out noir. Black leather jacket, oxblood satin slip dress, silver chains, deep matte red lip.

3. Soft retro. Light-wash denim jacket, white cotton tee, cherry-red patent Mary Janes, pearl studs.

Where They Fit

These shine where the eyes are the point: birthday dinners, concerts, cosplay, and bright-light photos. Daylight keeps the red crisp; warm indoor bulbs deepen it. At work they suit creative offices and casual Fridays next to black or ivory.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes — if you like a visible color statement. This is a bold red, so it works with minimal makeup and competes with pink blush, berry shadow, and a bright lip. On quiet days, choose something softer.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
