Quick Answer
Satin Tidepool Aqua Contact Lenses are a soft-glam aqua lens: a minty green-blue center over a fine dot mesh that softens into a deeper blue-green edge. Evening polish, not costume.
What the Shade Looks Like
The close-up shows a clear pupil opening, with color starting right at its edge. The field is a cool minty aqua — greener than blue and turquoise in bright light. A dense, even dot mesh covers the whole lens, so the color looks blended rather than painted on, feathering into a deeper blue-green at the edge with no dark rim.
What to Wear With Aqua
1. Wedding Guest: Champagne and Pearl. Champagne satin slip dress, pearl drops, brushed gold jewelry, blended bronze shadow.
2. Dinner Date: Ivory and Chocolate. Ivory ribbed knit, chocolate leather trousers, warm gold hoops, taupe shadow through the crease.
3. Studio Evening: Black and Silver. Black slip dress with a sheer overlay, brushed silver cuffs, glowing skin, soft charcoal shadow.
Where They Fit
Weddings, rehearsal dinners, prom photos and birthday dinners — anywhere a flash goes off. They also work as a soft everyday lens with a low-key face, and beside pastel wigs if you style cosplay.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes, with one condition: keep the rest of your makeup soft. With a heavy smoky eye the look tips into evening, so save them for the weekend if your office is strict.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
