Quick Answer

Satin Snow Blue Contact Lenses are a cool, frosted blue that looks styled in daylight and polished on camera. Think of them as blue contact lenses for real life, not a costume.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up, blue is the main event: a clean mid-blue that stays smooth across the lens instead of turning electric. The pupil reads through, then color opens outward in an even center-to-mid blend. There’s no hard line and no dark rim, so the edge melts into the natural iris. The surface reads soft and matte, with no glare. On dark eyes it lands bolder; on light eyes it stays misty.

What to Wear With Blue

1. Oatmeal and gold. Ivory ribbed knit, camel wool coat, cream trousers, brushed gold hoops. Warm neutrals let blue be the only cool note.

2. Charcoal monochrome. A satin slip dress, black leather jacket, and a fine silver chain. Silver reads icy here; skip yellow gold for the coldest version.

3. Frosted evening. Pale blue satin, pearl studs, white denim, and a blurred berry lip.

Where They Fit

Easy for brunch, weddings, travel photos, and desk days. They photograph clean in daylight and hold their cool tone under flash. Cosplay nights work too, but this shade still reads modern.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one rule: keep the rest of your makeup neutral. Nude or rose lips, a light base, and brushed brows keep it clean, and the blue works with a plain white tee. It only gets awkward beside heavy orange or copper shadow.

FAQ

What color are these lenses? A frosted mid-blue: blue contact lenses with a soft, even finish that spreads from the pupil and closes with no dark ring.

What should I wear with them? Cool neutrals and silver — charcoal, grey, ivory, denim, black leather. Add oatmeal and gold if you want blue to feel softer.

Can I wear them to work? Yes — with minimal makeup they read as a quiet styling detail. Save the boldest version for evening.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
