Quick answer

Satin Lily Cocoa Brown Contact Lenses are a soft glam take on brown contact lenses: warm cocoa through the middle, a soft amber glow near the pupil, and a blended edge with no hard ring.

What the Shade Looks Like

The close-up shows a warm cocoa brown laid over the iris. The lightest point sits around the pupil, where the tone reads amber-cocoa; from there it deepens into mid-brown, so center to edge moves as a slow gradient instead of a stamped circle.

The finish is diffused and satin-matte. There is no dark outer ring and no glossy highlight band; the color simply softens and fades at the edge.

What to Wear With Cocoa Brown

Cocoa brown loves warm tones. Three directions:

1. Champagne satin for evening. A bias-cut satin slip in champagne or soft gold, brushed gold hoops, berry lip. Keep the eye warm: taupe in the crease, satin bronze on the lid.

2. Camel and ivory for the office. Ivory silk blouse, camel wide-leg trousers, pearl studs, leather tote. Keep makeup quiet: cream bronzer, brow gel, nude-pink lip.

3. Bronze and rose for photos. Buffed bronze shadow, a smudge of espresso liner, glowing skin, rose-brown lip. Add a black column dress or a deep burgundy slip.

Where They Fit

Wedding guest duty, bridal-party photos, prom, anniversary dinners. The blend stays quiet enough for a workday and warm enough for a reservation at eight. Beauty lighting flatters it.

It travels well too — for a themed party or cosplay shoot, this brown reads as a polished finishing touch, not a full character look.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one condition: keep the makeup soft. The depth stays realistic for the office, errands and daylight, and the missing rim keeps it from reading as costume. Heavy liner pushes it dramatic — save that for evening.

  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
