Quick Answer

Satin Jasmine Brown Contact Lenses are a sheer tea-brown pair with a fine dotted mesh and a softly faded outer edge, so they read as quiet polish rather than a loud color switch. They suit a clean-girl face: glossy skin, brushed brows, bare lids.

What the Shade Looks Like

In daylight the base is a warm tea brown with a taupe lean — less red than chocolate, less grey than smoke. Color starts soft in the center, melting into the natural iris, then builds through a fine mesh of evenly scattered dots. That mesh is the whole story: tiny pinpricks, no clumps, no printed petals or rings. At the outer edge the pattern thins and fades, so there is no hard rim and no dark band. The surface keeps a neat glassy highlight, like a watered eye rather than a flat disc.

What to Wear With Brown

Brown is the easiest lens shade to dress around, so keep clothes quiet and let the eyes be the one point of interest.

1. Oatmeal Knit + Gold. Cream ribbed crewneck, taupe wool trousers, slim brown belt, small gold hoops. Brushed brows, clear balm.

2. Slate Tailoring + Silver. Soft grey blazer over a plain white tee, black straight-leg trousers, silver studs, low bun.

3. Denim + Espresso Leather. Light-wash straight jeans, dark brown leather jacket, camel coat, one bronze ring stack.

Where They Fit

Coffee runs, a Tuesday at the office, and long travel days are where this pair works best. It photographs well, because the fine mesh keeps the eye detailed instead of flat under flash. For a party, add a glossy lip and a slicked-back bun; for a themed night, it makes an understated base if you would rather skip a dramatic circle lens.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one honest note. In soft daylight, office light, and evening photos these lenses look natural, and the faded edge keeps them from reading as costume. In harsh direct sun the dot mesh shows more up close, so if you want something fully undetectable, choose a plainer lens.

FAQ

What color are these brown contact lenses? A warm tea brown with a taupe lean, built from a fine dot mesh that fades at the edge instead of ending in a ring.

What should I wear with them? Oatmeal, cream, taupe, slate grey, camel, and espresso leather flatter this shade; keep metals to one family.

Are they good for everyday wear? Yes, for work, travel, and photos. The dot texture is simply more visible in bright sun.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
