Quick Answer
Salt Air Azure Blue Contact Lenses are a deep-to-light blue that stays soft at the edge — an everyday blue, not a costume color.
What the Shade Looks Like
In the close-up, the blue sits deepest around the pupil and fades into a lighter, frost-washed blue. Coverage is even, so the blue carries across the whole eye. The finish is smooth, with no visible dot, mesh, or printed graphic and no mirror shine. There’s no hard outer rim — the shade simply softens at the edge.
What to Wear With Blue
-
Washed Denim and White Cotton: light-wash jeans, a white poplin shirt, silver hoops. Crisp basics keep the blue quiet.
-
Camel, Cream, and Oatmeal: a camel wool coat, a cream ribbed knit, ivory trousers, gold jewelry. Warm neutrals pull the blue forward.
-
All Black, Soft Texture: a black merino turtleneck, a matte leather skirt, charcoal boots, one slate-blue accent to echo the lens.
Where They Fit
Desk-to-dinner lenses. They hold up in daylight photos, coffee runs, and travel days with bare lids and tinted balm. For evening, add a satin dress and a little lash-line definition; for cosplay, they suit pale, frost-toned looks.
Everyday Wear: Yes
This is a genuinely wearable blue. It works with no-makeup makeup — tinted moisturizer, brows, one coat of mascara. Heavy smoked liner or warm shadows like rust and copper pull the blue theatrical, so keep the lid clean for the soft read.
FAQ

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
