Quick Answer
Rosewood Ember Brown Contact Lenses read as warm reddish-brown with a soft rose flush and a dark rim that keeps the color lit, not flat.
What the Shade Looks Like
In the close-up, a clear pupil opening sits inside a pale beige inner ring, then a rose-brown mid zone, then a solid dark brown rim. That mid zone is a fine dot-matrix mesh, so the color breaks up rather than reading flat. Tiny white highlights sit on the surface; on the eye they read as a natural catchlight.
Worn, the pattern diffuses. The pupil picks up a lighter amber-brown halo and the rim softens into a gentle limbal ring. It shifts the mood of your eyes, not your actual eye color.
What to Wear With Brown Contact Lenses
-
Cream, camel, gold. Cream silk blouse, camel wool trousers, thin gold chain, tan loafers. Warm tones echo the rose flush instead of fighting it.
-
Burgundy and black. Burgundy slip dress, black leather jacket, silver hoops, matte boots. The reddish cast pulls forward beside deep wine.
-
Chocolate and denim. Chocolate cashmere crewneck, straight-leg medium-wash denim, bronze jewelry. Quietly flattering on warm skin.
Where They Fit
Coffee runs, office days, travel photos, dinner reservations, holiday parties — and cosplay styling when you want a warmer eye in warm light.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes, with one caveat. The saturated rim is noticeable in daylight, so wear them on days you want your eyes to lead. For a barely-there look, this isn’t the pair.
FAQ
What color are these brown contact lenses? Warm reddish-brown: a pale beige inner ring, a rose-brown mid zone, and a dark brown rim.
What should I wear with them? Cream and camel for daytime, burgundy and black for evening, chocolate and denim for everyday.
Are they a good everyday lens? Yes if you like visible brown. The rim shows in daylight, so it’s a statement, not a whisper.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
