Quick Answer

Ribbon Cocoa Brown Contact Lenses are a warm, softly blended pair made for doll-round eyes and coquette styling. If you want brown contact lenses that read as amplified natural brown, start here.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a warm mid-brown, between cocoa and soft toffee. Depth sits near the pupil, the middle opens into a lighter brown field, and the color softens at the outer edge with no hard rim. The surface is smooth rather than dotted or meshed, and the finish stays soft and rounded, never graphic.

What to Wear With Brown

1. Ribbon and Lace — a cream lace blouse, a satin hair ribbon, pearl studs, and rose blush on the cheeks. The brown keeps the coquette formula wearable.

2. Oatmeal Knits and Gold — an oatmeal cardigan, ivory tee, straight-leg jeans, and small gold hoops. Soft neutrals let the brown warm the outfit.

3. Champagne Satin at Night — a champagne satin slip, rose-gold jewelry, and a nude-pink lip. The brown reads deeper after dark without going smoky.

Where They Fit

Desk days, travel days, birthday dinners, photo sessions — all easy. For cosplay or a themed party, they sit well under soft makeup and a satin ribbon.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes. The color stays quiet enough for work and errands, and it only feels dressed up once you add heavy liner or a bold lip. With a bare face, the smooth mid-field blend is the one detail you notice.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
