Quick answer

Radiant Milan Cobalt Blue Contact Lenses are a vivid cobalt blue with a dark outer rim and a soft blue starburst center — bold blue contact lenses that show up on camera.

What the shade looks like

The base is a saturated cobalt that leans royal, not gray. Around the center it opens into a lighter blue halo built from fine feathered dots and short radiating lines, which keeps the middle of the iris from looking flat. Toward the outer edge the blue thickens into a narrow navy band that outlines the eye. A pale reflection near the top curve in the photo is light, not print. The effect is bright, graphic, high-contrast.

What to wear with cobalt blue

Blue this saturated wants cool, clean surroundings.

1. Cool neutrals. A white cotton tee or poplin shirt, oatmeal wide-leg trousers, silver hoops, a slim black belt.

2. Denim on denim. A light chambray shirt, darker indigo jeans, a tan leather belt, white sneakers.

3. Evening polish. Black satin slip dress, cropped leather jacket, gunmetal chain, a berry lip.

Where they fit

Dinner photos, concerts, birthday shoots, and cosplay styling all suit this pair. In a relaxed office they read as an accessory beside a gray blazer. For travel, keep the face bare and let the blue carry the frame.

Everyday wear: Yes

Yes, with one rule: keep everything else quiet. Skin tint, brown mascara, brushed brows, nude lip. When the makeup gets loud too, the look tips toward costume. In a formal office or on a no-makeup day, save these for evenings and weekends.

FAQ

What color are these lenses? A vivid cobalt blue with a lighter dotted starburst at the center and a navy rim.

What should I wear with blue contact lenses this bold? Cool neutrals, gray wool, denim, black satin, or chocolate silk.

Are these good for everyday wear? Yes, when the rest of your look stays minimal. If your office is formal or you skip makeup, save them for evenings and photos.

  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
