Quick answer

Provence Moon Purple Contact Lenses are a soft mid-violet pair with an amber-warmed center and a finely dotted edge, quiet enough for daytime. If you want purple contact lenses that read as a mood rather than a costume, start here.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a true violet, closer to a faded iris than to lavender. Around the pupil it warms to amber-brown, so the center-to-mid transition happens gradually instead of snapping into a ring. From there the color moves outward in fine dots and short mesh strokes, feathering rather than stamping. The outer band deepens slightly, then softens, with no hard dark line across the iris. In daylight the finish reads even, and the bright spot in any photo is the eye’s own reflection.

What to Wear With Purple

1. Cream and camel. A ribbed cream knit, camel wool trousers, tan leather flats and brushed gold hoops. Warm neutrals keep the violet intentional, and the gold echoes the amber center.

2. Charcoal and denim. A charcoal blazer over a plain white tee, dark straight-leg denim, silver hoops, black boots. Cool tones sharpen the purple.

3. Lilac and bone. A lilac slip dress under a bone trench, nude sandals, one thin gold chain — tone-on-tone with a single clean neutral layer.

Where They Fit

Office days, long calls, brunch, travel photos, wedding-guest dressing. For a party or a cosplay shoot the violet still reads in flash, but it never needs the costume to make sense.

Everyday Wear: Yes

These are everyday purple contact lenses. The blend is soft, the color stays believable next to bare skin, and nothing about them shouts. Wear them with tinted moisturizer, cream blush and clear brow gel, and keep liner light — a heavy smoky eye competes with the violet.

FAQ

What color are they, exactly? A soft mid-violet that warms to amber near the pupil, deepens at the outer edge and carries fine dot texture through the middle.

What goes with them? Cream, camel and gold by day; charcoal, white and silver for a sharper look.

Can I wear them daily? Yes, for work, errands and dinner — they read as a subtle violet, not a special-occasion pair.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
