Quick answer

Provence Fern Green Contact Lenses are a milky, softly diffused green that looks like a quiet enhancement in natural daylight. For green contact lenses that read everyday rather than costume, this is the pair to try.

What the Shade Looks Like

The close-up shows a clear center opening that melts into medium milky green across the iris. The outer edge deepens into a soft olive-green shadow, with no drawn-on black ring. There is no heavy graphic pattern or hard line, just a smooth-looking wash that keeps the iris soft. In daylight, the green stays visible without turning neon.

What to Wear With Green

1. Ivory and Denim: An ivory ribbed tank, straight-leg blue jeans, brown leather sandals, and small gold hoops keep the green fresh.

2. Sage and Cream: A sage knit cardigan, cream wide-leg trousers, taupe loafers, and a slim silver necklace make the shade feel polished for work.

3. Chocolate and Olive: A chocolate linen blazer, olive slip skirt, woven belt, and bronze-tone earrings lean into the earthy side of green.

Where They Fit

These work for clean-beauty makeup, brunch, errands, casual offices, travel days, and daylight portraits. At parties or cosplay, they add a subtle green tint rather than a theatrical effect.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, this is an everyday green. The soft edge and milky tone sit naturally with minimal makeup and bare lashes. It may feel too subtle if you want a graphic, high-drama lens.

  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
