Quick answer
Prague Opal Garnet Red Contact Lenses are a vivid cherry-garnet red with a soft rose core. They read as a jewel-toned statement, not a subtle wash.
What the Shade Looks Like
Up close, the base is a bright, saturated red that leans cherry, not brick. A lighter rosy pink sits around the pupil, so the color builds outward instead of sitting flat. Fine dots carry the pigment across the surface and get denser near the edge, where a soft deeper red rim closes the design. Light catches the surface gently, keeping the finish liquid rather than matte.
What to Wear With Red Contact Lenses
Three directions I keep coming back to:
-
Cream, camel, gold. An oatmeal cable-knit sweater, camel wool trousers, and a slim gold chain. Polished, not costume-y.
-
Black leather, silver. A cropped leather jacket, black slip dress, and silver hoops. This one reads after dark.
-
Denim and white. White tee, light-wash straight jeans, tan belt, bare-skin makeup. The red does all the talking.
Where They Fit
Relaxed desk days, dinner reservations, birthday photos, travel shots, and anime-style cosplay with a silver wig. The rosy center catches warm light nicely.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes, with a caveat. These aren’t a whisper-soft tint, so they work best on days when the red is part of the plan. Keep shadow neutral, skip the red lip, and let the lenses carry it.
FAQ
What color are these, really? A bright cherry-garnet red with a lighter rose center and fine dotted texture that softens toward the rim.
What should I wear with red contact lenses? Neutrals first — cream, camel, white, denim — then black and silver for a night out.
Can I wear them every day? If a bold eye suits your mood, yes. Pair them with quieter makeup; the red is meant to be seen.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
