Quick Answer
Porto Dusk Mocha Brown Contact Lenses are a blended mocha brown with a deep cocoa center and no hard rim — natural depth without a graphic ring.
What the Shade Looks Like
Up close, these brown contact lenses show a warm mocha base, lighter than chocolate, with richer cocoa pooled around the pupil. The center melts into the mid-field instead of stopping at a line, and a fine dotted mesh carries color outward, so the edge softens instead of drawing a circle. There is no black rim and no bright highlight, just an even satin finish.
What to Wear With Brown
-
Cream and camel: an oatmeal ribbed knit, a camel wool coat and small gold hoops. Warm neutrals echo the mocha.
-
Espresso tailoring: a chocolate-brown blazer, an ivory silk shirt and bronze jewelry. Darker fabric makes the brown in your eyes read brighter.
-
Olive and rust: an olive utility jacket, a rust corduroy shirt and a canvas tote. Both earthy tones share this brown’s yellow base.
Where They Fit
Desk days, coffee runs and dinner reservations all suit this shade. It also works for costume and cosplay looks, where a natural brown base keeps the face human under makeup.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes, with one caveat: this is a blend-first brown, not a special-effects lens. Wear it to work, class or brunch, but a theatrical character look is not what this shade does.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
