Quick answer

Poolside Cyan Blue Contact Lenses are a vivid, glassy cyan-blue with a lighter center — deliberate 2000s pop-glam, not a subtle tint.

What the Shade Looks Like

The blue fills the iris edge to edge with no dark outer rim, so the color edge sits close to the lash line. Pigment is heaviest through the mid iris and eases into a soft milky wash at the center, which keeps these blue contact lenses glassy rather than painted on. Finish is smooth and satin, not glossy.

What to Wear With Blue

1. Mall-rat glam. Cropped baby tee, low-rise bootcut denim, white sneakers, cherry lip gloss, thin silver chain.

2. Frosted date night. Pale blue slip dress, sheer organza sleeves, small silver hoops, frosted shadow, glossy pink lip.

3. Calm everyday. Cream ribbed knit, straight-leg denim, canvas tote, matte skin, warm brown in the crease.

Silver and white gold flatter this shade; yellow gold warms it instead.

Where They Fit

Errands, campus days, coffee dates and travel photos all work. They are most fun at parties and in flash photos, and they suit y2k aesthetic makeup or an anime-adjacent cosplay shoot.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one rule: keep the rest of your face calm. Simple skin, thin brows, mascara and gloss do the most. They pass for class, brunch and casual Fridays; skip them for a formal interview.

FAQ

What color are they? A vivid cyan-blue, soft milky center, no dark rim — blue contact lenses that look glassy, not printed.

What should I wear with them? Faded denim, white cotton, silver jewelry and a gloss lip. Cream and camel tone it down.

Can I wear them every day? Yes on casual days; skip formal interviews and let neutral makeup carry a conservative office.

  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
