Quick answer

Pearl Lotus Brown Contact Lenses are a translucent milk brown: sheer, warm and softly diffused, so the iris edge looks gently blurred rather than outlined. For natural-looking brown contact lenses with everyday makeup, this is the mood to shop.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up, the base is a milky tea brown with a soft, watered translucence. The center sits slightly deeper and fades through the mid-iris in a gentle gradient. The dot wash is fine and low-contrast, so it blurs into the eye instead of reading as a graphic pattern, and there is no dark rim — the outer edge simply dissolves. Daylight keeps it clean and a little sheer, closer to a watercolor wash than a solid disc.

What to Wear With Brown

1. Oatmeal and camel. A chunky oatmeal knit, camel wool coat, tan leather bag and brushed gold hoops keep the palette warm and tonal.

2. Cream and denim. Ecru shirting, raw denim, a thin leather belt and small pearl studs let the brown read soft and unfussy.

3. Charcoal and silk. Charcoal trousers, a cream silk blouse and slim silver jewelry sharpen the same brown without turning it cool.

Where They Fit

These suit a slow brunch, a daylight photo walk, a hybrid workday and travel days when you want your eyes to look awake with almost no makeup. They also work as a subtle party or cosplay finish when the rest of the look stays simple.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes — this is a day-to-day brown. The diffusion is soft enough for class, office and errands, and it never looks costumey. It reads subtle in low light and in photos, so save bolder liner for nights out.

FAQ

What color are these brown contact lenses? A translucent milk brown — a light, milky brown with a soft center-to-edge fade and no dark rim.

What should I wear with them? Warm neutrals: oatmeal, camel, cream and denim, finished with gold or pearl accents.

Are they everyday lenses? Yes, for low-key looks; they are a subtle finish, not a high-drama color.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
