Quick answer

Pearl Drop Black Contact Lenses are a rounded deep-black lens with a fine dot-mesh finish that defines the eye without flattening it. Yes — they work for everyday wear when the rest of your makeup stays light.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a soft saturated black, not blue-black or grey. The center stays open and slightly sheer so your own iris tone shows through, then tiny dots build density outward until the edge settles into a clean dark ring that keeps the shape round and graphic.

No glitter and no hard line — the surface stays soft and matte-leaning in daylight, with only the natural reflection of light. Sunlight softens it toward charcoal; at night it reads close to jet black, so one pair covers a workday and a dinner.

What to Wear With Black

1. Soft neutral daytime. Cream ribbed knit, straight-leg indigo denim, a camel trench, small gold hoops. Bare skin and a tinted balm keep the eyes the only strong note.

2. Monochrome evening. A black satin slip or a charcoal blazer over a white tee, one slim silver cuff, hair slicked back.

3. Cool contrast. A crisp white poplin shirt, grey wool trousers, leather loafers and a brushed-steel watch — white fabric makes that dark edge pop.

Where They Fit

Office mornings, coffee runs, class, travel photos and brunch. They also work for a soft-lash party or low-key cosplay look when you want darker eyes without a full costume. Daylight photos are the friendliest place to test them.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one condition: keep the makeup light. With sunscreen, brow gel, mascara and a neutral outfit, these black contact lenses read as your own eyes one shade deeper. Skip them for a full smoky eye — dark on dark tips polished into costume.

FAQ

What color are these black contact lenses? A deep soft black with a fine dot-mesh texture and a defined dark edge; the center stays clear enough that your natural tone still shows.

What should I wear with them? Cream knits, denim and white by day; black satin and silver at night. Gold and silver both work — this shade has no strong warm or cool cast.

Are they everyday-appropriate? Yes, with light makeup — they flatter bare skin and no-makeup makeup, and feel heaviest with a full smoky eye.

  • We recommend a rub and rinse before soaking soft lenses for a minimum of 6 hours in their container.
  • Don't wear contact lenses overnight.
  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

  • Replace your contact lens case every two to three months.

  • Never use saliva as a wetting agent.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
