Quick Answer

Paris Opal Plum Purple Contact Lenses are a vivid violet pair with a lilac center ring and a fine dotted texture that gives the iris soft, painterly depth.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up, the color opens as a bright lilac ring at the pupil, then builds into saturated mid-violet across the lens. The texture is a fine dot-mesh that blends into an airbrushed wash instead of hard lines. Toward the outer edge the violet fades to a pale lavender haze, and a thin plum rim circles the lens. A soft studio highlight keeps the surface smooth and slightly glassy in photos.

What to Wear With Purple

1. Cool Monochrome. Charcoal wool blazer, plain white tee, black straight-leg denim, brushed silver hoops. Violet pops against grey and white.

2. Deep Plum Evening. Eggplant satin slip dress, sheer black tights, gunmetal jewelry, berry lip. Throw on a leather jacket if satin feels too precious.

3. Soft Lilac Day. Lilac linen shirt, cream trousers, tan belt, pale gold hoops. The lenses stay the loudest element and everything else reads sunlit.

Where They Fit

Dinners, concerts, photo shoots, and costume styling — anywhere you want the eyes to lead. At the office or in class they work with a defined brow and mascara.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one condition: wear them like a statement lip. Keep skin clean, add brow, blush, and one coat of mascara, and the violet looks intentional. Skip them on days when you want to look completely bare-faced.

FAQ

What color are these purple contact lenses, exactly? Saturated mid-violet, a lighter lilac ring at the center, a pale lavender fade at the edge, and a thin plum rim.

What should I wear with them? Grey, white, black, and silver keep them cool and modern; eggplant, cream, and berry soften the look. Skip neon green near the face.

Can I wear them every day? Yes, if you keep a little definition in your makeup. This is a bold shade, not a subtle one.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
