Quick answer

Oslo Twilight Sandalwood Brown Contact Lenses are a soft, natural brown that reads as depth in the iris, not a flat sheet of color — brown contact lenses for anyone who wants their own eyes, just warmer.

What the Shade Looks Like

Up close the base is a warm mid-brown — sandalwood, or tea held to a window. The center stays open so your own iris shows through, then the color builds through the middle and fades toward the edge. That fade is the point: no hard ring, no dark limbal line, nothing drawn on. The blend keeps a soft, fine edge when you study it, and at normal distance it settles into a smooth wash with no heavy gloss. There’s no bold graphic stamped across the surface — the blending is the whole story.

What to Wear With Brown

  1. Oatmeal and cream. Chunky oatmeal knit, cream denim, small gold hoops — warm neutrals let the brown glow.
  2. Charcoal and white. Grey wool blazer, white button-down, silver jewelry; cool greys deepen the brown.
  3. Camel and denim. Camel trench over a white tee, mid-blue straight jeans, tan leather belt, berry lip.

Where They Fit

Desk days, daylight errands, coffee with a friend, a long train ride — the shade holds without announcing itself. It photographs well in natural light, so portraits and wedding-guest looks are easy. Parties and costumes work as a subtle base, not a statement.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes. This is a true everyday brown, clean enough for the office and warm enough for weekends. The caveat: if you want an obvious color change, this soft blend will feel quiet.

FAQ

What color are these brown contact lenses? A warm natural mid-brown, clear at the center with a soft seamless edge — closer to sandalwood than chocolate.

What should I wear with them? Warm neutrals — oatmeal, cream, camel — make the brown glow; charcoal, white and silver make it read deeper.

Can I wear them every day, and is there a visible pattern? Yes, they suit daily wear, and there’s no hard rim or bold print — just a blended wash that stays natural in daylight.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
