Quick answer

Oslo Pearl Grey Contact Lenses are smoky grey lenses with a fine dot-mesh print, clear center, and dark outer ring. They give grey contact lenses a cool, soft-focus finish that works best with silver, charcoal, and black.

What the Shade Looks Like

The close-up shows a smoky grey base that deepens toward the mid-periphery and rim. The pupil stays dark and clear, then softens into the dotted grey mid-iris. A fine, dense halftone dot or mesh print gives the surface a textured, screen-like look. Bright white highlights catch the upper lens and eye, while a narrow dark outer ring defines the edge with a soft limbal-ring effect.

What to Wear With Grey

1. Soft office neutrals: a dove grey blazer, ivory silk camisole, charcoal tapered trousers, and polished silver studs.

2. Weekend cool: a washed black leather jacket, white cotton tee, faded straight-leg jeans, and a brushed steel watch.

3. Evening editorial: a smoky plum slip dress, sheer black cardigan, gunmetal earrings, and patent ankle boots.

Where They Fit

They fit office days, travel photos, dinners, parties, and cosplay looks that need a muted, steely gaze. Style them like smoky eyeliner in lens form: visible and cool.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, these grey contact lenses are everyday-friendly if you like a soft but noticeable eye effect. They work with silver jewelry, grey tailoring, black denim, and cool-toned makeup. Skip them for conservative settings where you want a natural iris.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
