Quick answer

Opal Serene River Blue Contact Lenses are a glassy medium-blue pair with a clear center and softly deeper edge for polished daytime looks and photo-friendly evenings.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up, the center is pale icy blue, then shifts into saturated river blue through the middle and deepens at the outer edge. The transition is clean but soft, with no hard black rim. The surface reads smooth, with no obvious dot pattern, mesh, or strong highlight, so the effect is watercolor rather than chrome. It is a styling layer, not a true color change.

What to Wear With Blue

  1. Crisp daytime blue. White cotton poplin shirt, light-wash straight-leg denim, fine silver chain, white sneakers, and a navy canvas tote.
  2. Soft evening neutral. Navy satin slip dress, gray wool blazer, brushed silver hoops, and black patent sandals; the satin sheen meets the blue, while gray keeps it grounded.
  3. Warm contrast. Cream ribbed knit, camel trench, chocolate brown trousers, and muted gold jewelry; warm neutrals make river blue pop without costume energy.

Where They Fit

These fit a casual office, weekend museum day, travel photos, a rooftop birthday, and a low-key blue-themed cosplay look. Keep cosplay makeup clean; for parties, add sharper liner and a sleek bag.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Everyday wear is a clear yes. The pale center keeps blue approachable with no-makeup makeup, a simple tee, and mascara. It can feel too icy with very warm earthy outfits or heavy bronze makeup, so save it for cool-toned looks and photos.

FAQ

What color are these blue contact lenses? They are a clear, glassy blue with an icy center that deepens into river blue at the edge.

What should I wear with them? Crisp white and denim, navy satin with gray, or cream and camel all work; silver and muted gold both have a place.

Do they have a visible mesh or dark rim? No, the close-up shows a smooth blue field with a soft edge, not a hard rim or obvious mesh.

  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
