Quick answer

Opal Rain Green Contact Lenses are a vivid grass green over a fine dotted mesh, finished with a darker forest rim that keeps the color crisp in daylight. If you want green contact lenses with real presence, this is the mood.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up, the center stays clear, then a bright spring-grass green fills the iris fast. The texture is a fine printed mesh of tiny dots rather than a solid wash, and it deepens into a darker emerald ring at the outer edge. No glitter, no metallic finish — just dots, color, and that defined rim.

What to Wear With Green

1. Cream and camel. An oatmeal knit, ecru wide-leg trousers, and tan loafers keep the look quiet, so the green is the only saturated note. Add brushed gold hoops.

2. Black and silver. A black satin slip dress, a cropped leather jacket, and silver hoops lean editorial. Cool metal makes green look sharper.

3. Denim and white. Light-wash straight jeans, a white tee, and a washed olive overshirt feel unfussy. White sneakers keep the green looking almost natural.

Where They Fit

These suit daytime color lovers: brunch, campus, travel photos. In a casual or creative office they hold their own, though winged liner and heavy blush push them toward costume. Parties and photo shoots work too, where the darker rim keeps the green from washing out under flash.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with a caveat. The pigment is strong and the rim is defined, so this is not a no-makeup lens. With a simple base, mascara, and a neutral lip, it works for errands, work, and weekends. If you want green that whispers, choose something softer — this one speaks.

What should I wear with green contact lenses? Cream, oat, camel, black, white, and faded denim. Let the eyes be the only saturated element, then choose gold or silver.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
