Quick answer

Opal Glaze Toffee Brown Contact Lenses are a warm toffee brown pair with a soft center blend and a deepened amber rim. If you want brown contact lenses that polish a bare face without shouting, start here.

What the Shade Looks Like

The close-up shows a honeyed toffee base, lightest at the center and deeper toward the edge. There is no hard stopping line — a fine dotted texture softens the color outward, so it reads natural in daylight and softly glowy in flash. A narrow band of warmer amber-brown rings the outer edge, so the iris gets a gentle boundary instead of a flat disc. Light catches the surface, leaving a bright reflection that reads glossy rather than matte.

What to Wear With Toffee Brown

1. Low-rise denim and a baby tee. Light-wash low-rise jeans, a cropped ribbed tee in cream, and a thin silver chain.

2. Frosted night-out glam. A chocolate satin slip dress, silver hoops, frosty pink highlighter, and a glossy brown lip.

3. Soft preppy layers. An open plaid shirt over a white tank, straight-leg jeans, and a knit beret — casual, not costume.

Where They Fit

Class, coffee runs, campus, train rides: the brown base stays quiet for all of them.

They also hold up in flash photos, birthday dinners, and Y2K parties, where the warm tone looks glossy on camera.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, this is an everyday pair. The toffee brown stays close to a natural iris tone, so it passes at work and at school and still shows up on camera.

It works least with heavy graphic liner or a bold red lip; in stark white office light it reads cleaner and less saturated.

FAQ

What color are these lenses? A toffee brown — a warm honeyed center fading into a slightly deeper amber-brown edge.

What makeup suits brown contact lenses? Frosty pink or champagne highlighter, glossy brown or mauve lips, soft brown liner, and light shimmer shadow.

Can I wear them daily? Yes. The visible pattern is a fine dotted blend, not a graphic ring, so it stays quiet up close.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
