Quick answer

Opal Frost Honey Brown Contact Lenses are a warm golden brown with a soft, rimless fade — the easiest route to flash-photo Y2K shimmer without a costume. Day or night, the center stays glossy.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up, the base is a true warm brown with a deeper amber-cocoa band near the outer edge. From the pupil outward, the color steps down through a fine dotted gradient into honeyed gold, so the center catches light while the edge stays soft. There’s no hard black rim — just a smooth center-to-mid transition.

What to Wear With Brown

1. Frosted Denim. Low-rise light-wash jeans, a white cropped baby tee, and a thin silver chain belt, plus a butterfly clip and frosty highlighter.

2. Chocolate Satin. An espresso satin slip dress, glossy lips, thin brows, and gold hoops — gold pulls out the honey center.

3. Flash-Photo Neutrals. A cream knit tank, a mini skirt, chunky white sneakers, and one cherry-red bag for.

Where They Fit

Coffee runs, class, dinner with friends, concerts, prom photos, and any night a flash is coming. Y2K parties and cosplay work too, worn as a styling choice.

Everyday Wear: Yes

The rimless fade keeps this pair easy for work, brunch, and travel — the gradient is soft enough to sit with a bare face and a quick lip gloss. If you want a hard, graphic edge, this isn’t the pair.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
