Quick answer
Neon Static Violet Purple Contact Lenses are a saturated, evenly pigmented purple with no dark rim, so they read as bold color rather than a soft wash. If you want purple contact lenses that hold their intensity in photos, start here.
What the Shade Looks Like
The close-up shows a vivid, slightly cool violet filling the center and mid-iris. That purple carries to the outer edge with no black or charcoal ring cutting it off, so the eye looks open rather than outlined. The surface reads smooth — no dot matrix, no pixel scatter, no glitter. It deepens just slightly around the pupil, which keeps the coverage from looking like a flat sticker. Any shine is light bouncing off the eye, not a painted-in highlight.
What to Wear With Purple
Purple steals a scene, so build the rest of the look around it.
-
Black and silver. Ribbed baby tee, leather mini, fishnets, platform boots, chunky silver chains. Silver keeps violet electric.
-
Washed grey. Faded denim jacket, straight jeans, oversized band tee, white sneakers — close enough in tone that nothing clashes.
-
Lilac and magenta. Lilac cardigan over a black slip dress, or a magenta tee with black cargos and gold hoops.
Where They Fit
Concerts, club nights, and ring-light shoots are the obvious home. They also work for coffee runs and lectures when your makeup is already graphic — winged shadow, chunky lashes, bold blush. For Halloween or cosplay, let the eyes carry the whole look.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes, with a caveat: this is a bold eye, so it suits days you’re happy to be looked at. Keep the rest of your makeup neutral for class and errands, and go full graphic liner when you want the stare.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
