Quick answer

Neon Static Azure Blue Contact Lenses go all in on blue: an electric azure center, a saturated cobalt edge, and a glossy highlight that reads bright in daylight and flash. Skip them if you want subtle.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is saturated cobalt. It lightens toward the pupil into a soft periwinkle halo, then deepens again at the outer edge, so the iris gets a defined inked rim instead of a fuzzy fade.

The pattern is a fine dotted mesh, tiny lighter-blue pixels over the deeper base, so it never reads as a flat painted disc. A glossy highlight sits near the lower inner curve.

What to Wear With Blue

1. Cool denim. Washed black jeans, a white tee, a boxy denim jacket, silver hoops. Silver and gunmetal echo the cool tone.

2. Cream and camel. A cream silk blouse, taupe wide-leg trousers, a camel trench, brushed gold earrings.

3. Satin at night. A teal or navy satin slip dress, a cropped leather jacket, strappy heels. Keep lips soft rose.

Where They Fit

Best for photos, concerts, date nights, and cosplay looks where a bright anime-blue eye is the point. They also work on a plain Tuesday if your closet leans denim and silver. Long meetings suit something softer.

Everyday Wear: Yes

A qualified yes. With bare skin, mascara, and no liner, the blue reads graphic rather than costume. Add smoky shadow or heavy lashes and it tips into costume.

FAQ

What color are these blue contact lenses? Electric azure over cobalt, with a light halo at the pupil and a deep blue edge. Up close, the dotted mesh and glossy highlight are visible.

What should I wear with them? Black, white, grey, indigo, teal, and silver are the easy route. Cream, camel, and gold give a warmer contrast.

Are they good for everyday? Yes with light makeup and cool-toned clothes. For a soft no-makeup look, this shade is more blue than most people want.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
